What is Coaching?
Think about the best athletes, musicians, and writers. They all have something in common - they learn and practice their skills. Coaching can help you identify personal barriers to the life you desire and help you develop and implement a plan for reaching your goals.
Coaching vs. Counseling
Education Coaching is tutoring, success skill building, and specific skill training for students and families.
Individual, Couples, and Family Coaching are not therapy or counseling. Mental illness, grief, and long-term needs require counseling provided by a mental health counselor*.
*Any client who enters into coaching, but has a condition or situation which requires counseling may exit coaching with a referral to a local counselor or agency. Coaching is appropriate for short-term or minor issues which require skill-building and planning. Counseling is best for intense or long-term issues which require skill-building, reflection, and extensive support.
If you are unsure if coaching or counseling is most appropriate, please contact us and we will discuss your personal situation and goals.
Why Choose Coaching?
Everyone has times in their lives when they need a little support to reach their goals. Coaching provides skill training and support. Coaches are your personal cheerleaders and collaborators. We help you break down your overall goal into manageable steps, address the skills needed, and offer practice and support. Coaching may be a great option for those not wanting to wait until their relationship or family is in trouble and requires counseling. It can also be a great self-care tool to help individuals reach education or personal goals.
